United Site Services Plays Key Role in Construction of Award-Winning Rhode Island Veterans Home

United Site Services is proud to have been a trusted vendor in the construction of the Rhode Island Veterans Home, which was honored by ENR New England as 2018’s Best Government Public Building built in New England.

United Site Services was part of a team of elite vendors that supported Gilbane Building Company as it constructed the 208-bed, 254,000-sq-ft facility for veterans, which is located in Bristol, RI.

Opened on Veteran’s Day in 2017 in a celebration led by the Governor of Rhode Island, the Rhode Island Veterans Home is actually six wood-framed residential buildings located on a 47-acre campus. The spread-out nature of the site meant United Site Services and the other vendors were faced with a logistically complex challenge as they provided products and services to facilitate the construction process.

The ENR New England award for the Rhode Island Veteran’s Home was one of 27 awards given out in 2018 in 15 categories. ENR, which was formerly known as Engineering News-Record, is the industry-leading publication and website that provides engineering and construction professionals with the latest news, analysis and commentary.
